Craft Resin Care and Maintenance Instructions
To keep your craft resin creations looking glossy and flawless, clean them using only warm water, a drop of mild soap, and a soft microfiber cloth. Always avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive sponges, and dishwashers. Protect finished pieces from prolonged direct sunlight to prevent yellowing.
Cleaning & Daily Care
- Everyday Dust: Simply dust surfaces with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth.
- Deeper Clean: Wipe gently with a soft cloth dipped in warm, soapy water or a mild glass cleaner (like Windex).
- What to Avoid: Never use scouring pads, bleach, or acetone, as these will permanently scratch and cloud the resin’s high-gloss finish.
Environment & Heat Exposure
- UV Rays: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight will cause clear epoxy to yellow or fade. Store and display artwork or jewelry in shaded areas, or use a UV-Resistant Topcoat for added protection.
- Temperature: Keep cured craft resin away from extreme heat sources (like hot pots or hot cars). Temperatures exceeding 120°F (50°C) can cause the piece to warp or soften.
Restoring Shine & Repairs
- Polishing Out Scratches: If your piece develops light surface scratches, you can restore the shine using specialized Epoxy Resin Polishes and a buffing pad.
- Deep Damage: For severe chips or deep gouges, consult a professional rather than attempting DIY fixes that may worsen the damage.
